To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
Applications are invited from individuals with a life science background for a permanent post as a Genetic Technologist within the South East Scotland Genetic Service, based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. The fully UKAS accredited laboratory provides both regional and national Genetics Services.
Responsibilities
* Work within a busy diagnostic laboratory and undertake a wide range of duties towards the investigation of both inherited and acquired genetic conditions.
* Utilise Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and Policies in daily work.
* Provide access to continuing career development through regular departmental seminar programmes and training where appropriate.
Qualifications
* Relevant Honours Degree in life sciences.
* Experience of working in a scientific laboratory.
* Detailed understanding of Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
