We require an experienced and qualified Senior Service Engineer to join our team. Working alongside the Location Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading the engineering team and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy workshop to maintain our fleet and meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the Location Service Manager in the daily operations of the workshop.
2. Ensuring 100% coverage for servicing and maintenance of our modern hire fleet.
3. Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine at depot or on-site as required.
4. Producing monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules, and organizing engineer workloads to complete all work per company policies.
5. Maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standards.
6. Providing guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls.
7. Locating spares required, ensuring CE ratings are not compromised where applicable.
8. Following guidelines set out in the Quality and Health & Safety policies.
9. Maintaining a basic stock control system for workshop spares.
10. Identifying training and development needs of workshop personnel.
11. Supporting depot engineers with technical help and advice.
About you:
1. Supervisory experience in a busy workshop, with the ability to set high standards.
2. Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or other construction plant hire sectors.
3. Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a maintenance/engineering discipline.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
5. Experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is desirable.
6. Good interpersonal skills and an understanding of excellent customer service.
