Electrical Engineer – Substations

An established high voltage engineering business is looking to strengthen its engineering team to support continued growth and project delivery across HV infrastructure. This is a full time role for an electrical engineer, responsible for engineering, coordination, and delivery of substation and grid connection projects.
The role will involve a mix of office/workshop based work, site activities, and occasional remote working.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Supporting the design, planning, and delivery of HV projects (up to 132kV)
* Experience working with an Independent Connection Provider (ICP)
* Managing technical interfaces with clients, DNOs, and subcontractors
* Supporting installation, testing, and commissioning of HV systems
* Experience in testing and commissioning of electrical protection systems
* Acting as SAP on new and existing electrical networks (typically up to 132kV)
Who We’re Looking For
* Qualified Electrical Engineer (HND, Degree, or equivalent experience)
* Experience within an ICP, utility, or HV contracting environment
* Strong understanding of HV systems, substations, and grid connections
* Experience with AutoCAD and other engineering software
* Background in testing and commissioning of protection systems
* Good knowledge of UK electrical safety and compliance standards
* Senior Authorised Person (SAP) up to 132kV (higher voltage advantageous)
