Summary
Due to retirement of a long standing board member, we are seeking two, commercially astute, dedicated Trustees to join the board at St. Aidan's Day Nursery for a just a couple of hours a month to mentor and help lead us.
The 2 other trustees hold Senior positions in Education and local Government, so any savvy business beasts that would give Alan Sugar a run for his money, would be very warmly welcomed
The role is offered as with expenses for travel and associated costs.
Ideally, we're seeking the likes of a local MD, CEO, Finance or Operations Director, who can open doors within the Carlisle business community, and help show us the way into even more efficient and successful future.
This role is vital in leading the nursery's mission to ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained. The Trustee will work closely with 2 other trustees, and the management team, to support the nursery's objectives and enhance its reputation within the community.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic oversight and governance for St. Aidan's Day Nursery.
* Support the management team in achieving operational goals and maintaining high standards of care.
* Engage with parents, staff, and the community to foster positive relationships.
* Assist in fundraising efforts to secure resources for nursery improvements.
* Participate in regular meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare.
Requirements
* Ideally, but not necessary, experience in governance or board roles, preferably within an educational or childcare setting.
* Strong relationship management skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Experience in fundraising or public relations is advantageous but not essential.
* An understanding, or willingness to learn about, the immense challenges thrust upon the Early Years private and voluntary funded sector.
