We’re looking for a Principal Estates Surveyor to join our team based in Exeter. The role involves delivering estates inputs into property projects, ensuring compliance with government property legislation, and maintaining an estate of the right size, condition, and location. You will support strategic property advice across National Highways offices and operational estate.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with regular travel to our Exeter office and estate sites as required.
What you’ll be leading on
1. Provide advice on property acquisitions, disposals, and Landlord/Tenant issues to maintain estate value and condition.
2. Handle day-to-day case work on complex/high-value property transactions.
3. Support the Principal Estates Surveyor in programme and project management for complex/high-value works.
4. Manage activities within the property supply chain, including professional real estate advisors, agents, and solicitors.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with project teams by providing reliable, accurate, and professional property advice.
To be successful you’ll need
1. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with extensive experience in estates/property strategy, acquisitions, disposals, and landlord/tenant matters.
2. Proven success in delivering estates projects on time.
3. Ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
4. Experience across different industries and sectors.
5. Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
