These are new and exciting 'recruit to train' positions across Sussex as part of our transformation of community mental health services. They have been commissioned to improve access to psychological therapies.
This post will be based in the Arun Neighbourhood Mental Health Team in Littlehampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their mental health expertise and focus on delivering evidence-based therapies to those who need them.
The successful candidate will be employed on a Band 6 salary for 2 years while studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT for Severe Mental Health Problems. During your training, you will specialise in Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder.
This course is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) at level two. While on this course, you will have academic support and be part of Sussex's established psychological therapy services.
After completing the training and applying for practitioner status with the BABCP, you will be guaranteed a post as a Band 7 psychological therapist.
Main duties of the job
While training, you will be part of a multidisciplinary mental health team providing intervention and support to individuals with severe mental health problems. You will offer cognitive behavioural therapy and specialise in psychosis and bipolar disorder, working closely with colleagues from psychology, psychological therapies, and other mental health disciplines.

Job responsibilities
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
* Possess a core mental health qualification or equivalent through BABCP assessment of Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA), to be submitted before or at offer.
* Be committed to implementing psychological interventions for complex and severe mental health issues.
* Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, challenging environment with high clinical demand.
* Have at least 4 years of mental health experience; for core professions, at least 2 years post-qualification.

* A registered/qualified degree in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, or psychological therapy (see attached list).
Knowledge/Experience
* Experience working in mental health services.
* Ability to meet service targets.
* Manage own caseload and time effectively.
* High standards in written communication, including clear reports and letters to referrers.
