Pre-Admission Administrator
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Pre-Admission Administrator to join our pre-assessment team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and is committed to supporting high-quality patient care. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth coordination of pre-assessment services, working closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to meet hospital targets and uphold national healthcare standards.
Position Details
* Actively support and contribute to the requirements of the pre-assessment service.
* Ensure compliance with targets and standards set at both local and national levels.
* Work collaboratively with pre-assessment nurses and the Capacity & Utilisation Lead to deliver capacity to meet hospital admission targets.
* Manage the booking and coordination of pre-assessment appointments.
* Liaise effectively with patients, GP practices, and other relevant services to ensure all information required for admissions is collected and communicated.
* Provide evidence of experience within a hospital administrative setting, with a strong understanding of clinical terminology and processes.
* Be educated to a level required for the role, or possess equivalent experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Coordinate all aspects of the pre-assessment appointment process, ensuring efficient scheduling and communication.
* Support the pre-assessment team in meeting admission targets through effective administrative processes.
* Maintain clear and professional communication with patients and external healthcare providers.
* Assist with the collection and management of patient information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
* Actively contribute to continual improvement in pre-admission processes and patient experience.
Key Deliverables
* Provide comprehensive administrative support for all pre-assessment admissions.
* Achieve and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding timelines ahead of admission.
* Strictly adhere to all targets and guidelines as set by the service and regulatory bodies.
Performance Metrics
* Timely and accurate scheduling of pre-assessment appointments.
* Effective communication and liaison with all stakeholders.
* Compliance with local and national standards for pre-admission services.
* Consistent achievement of KPIs and service targets.
Person Specification
* Experience working in a hospital administrative setting.
* Sound knowledge of clinical terminology and healthcare processes.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
* Educated to the required level or equivalent relevant experience.
