Overview
We require an enthusiastic Locum Consultant Radiologist to join our team of 23 Substantive Consultant Radiologists. The appointee will be primarily based at either Eastbourne DGH or Conquest Hospital Hastings, although this may change dependent on service need.
The Radiology Departments are actively involved in teaching with four radiology trainees on rotation from HEKSS deanery. Audit and other continuing professional development activities are positively encouraged. Applicants should demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in General Radiology. Development of subspecialty areas of interest in addition to core skills is encouraged and the successful candidate is expected to participate in the development of Radiology services.
Responsibilities
* Provide General Radiology services with a focus on high-quality reporting and patient care.
* Participate in the development of Radiology services and subspecialty areas of interest alongside core radiology skills.
* Contribute to teaching and supervision of radiology trainees and involvement in audit and quality improvement activities.
* Adhere to safety, quality assurance, and professional standards within the department.
* Support on-call arrangements as specified by the current rota (first line on call is provided by SpR or staff grade radiologists until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends with on call outsourced to a reporting company overnight). Daytime cover includes responsibility for ensuring quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota, including weekend Malignant cord compression MRI coverage when required.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration.
* Significant clinical experience in General Radiology; development of subspecialty interests encouraged.
Contract and Working Arrangements
This post will be offered on the Terms and Conditions in line with national pay scales. The appointee will join a team of consultants and support staff to deliver services across Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital Hastings.

On-Call and Rota Details
First line on call is provided by SpR or staff grade radiologists until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends, with on-call outsourced to a reporting company overnight. The General Radiology consultant team is responsible for checking scans the following day to ensure quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota. Daytime cover is also provided for a Malignant cord compression MRI at weekends on the same 1 in 8 rota.
