Your impact In this newly created role, you will work as part of a small but growing team of industry subject matter experts covering the operations, maintenance, risk, and governance of tunnels, delivering advice and support to owners and/or operators of tunnel infrastructure. Project works and refurbishments are underway, including specifications, design, approval processes, and programmes. The remit of the role will include areas such as: Maintaining an excellent understanding of the portfolio of tunnels being supported. Ensuring all relevant tunnel regulations and standards are updated, rolled out, and applied. Maintaining the suite of operational documentation for tunnels, including emergency fire safety strategies. Developing and updating operational and maintenance strategies, manuals, and procedures. Facilitating and documenting fire risk assessments. Collaborating with clients, design, engineering, and maintenance stakeholders to develop long-term asset management strategies. Scheduling, chairing, and managing key coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including tunnel design, asset management, safety consultation, and emergency planning. Reviewing all technical queries from stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and operations and emergency response teams. Developing and maintaining operational risk registers. Here's what you'll need We would be delighted to hear from candidates with a good blend of the following skills and experience: It would be highly desirable for the individual to have / be: Experience working on tunnel infrastructure and operations and maintenance schemes. Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of highway infrastructure or similar sectors. Sound knowledge of current national, regional, and local guidance/standards related to tunnel operations, maintenance, or engineering.
