A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Direct Works – Responsive and Planned Repairs and Voids team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Housing Repairs environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to carry out technical surveying and inspections relating to responsive repairs, planned maintenance, disrepair, damp, voids, and capital investment across council homes and public buildings. Ensuring the properties are maintained to a high standard, fit for use, and compliant with housing regulations.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:• Conducting pre-, during-, and post-inspections of works, including quality control.• Preparing specifications for remedial works and ensuring CDM and health & safety compliance.• Identifying defects and recommending effective solutions in line with Decent Homes and HHSRS standards.• Overseeing contractors and coordinating works on-site.The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:• A RICS-accredited degree or equivalent.• Minimum of 5 years’ experience surveying domestic properties and diagnosing building faults.• Strong knowledge of contractor management and building maintenance.The below skills would be beneficial for the role:• Experience with public buildings and capital investment projects.• Ability to manage project budgets and communicate technical issues effectively.• Computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £230 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £185 per day PAYE).How to ApplyIf this position sounds of interest, email a copy of your up-to-date CV to .uk or call Amy at Service Care Construction on to discuss the vacancy in more detail.Also, if this role is not of interest to you, but you are looking for new opportunities, please still get in touch as we cover all construction-related vacancies across the region.Referral BonusIf this role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details, or forward these details to them.
