College Support Worker
Location: Chelmsford
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: £90–£140 (depending on experience)
We are currently seeking a dedicated College Support Worker to join a dynamic and supportive Post-16 college setting in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional learning needs as they transition into adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students aged 16–19 with a range of additional needs (including SEN, ASD, and SEMH).
* Assist in lessons, promote engagement, and encourage independence in both academic and vocational sessions.
* Support students with personal development, life skills, and progression into further study or employment.
* Work closely with teaching staff and specialists to ensure all students have access to the curriculum and appropriate interventions.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people in an educational, college, or care setting—particularly Post 16.
* Confidently supporting students with additional needs, including those working towards independence.
* Patient, proactive, and passionate about helping learners achieve their goals.
* A strong communicator with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and starts immediately.
