This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering Outpatients MSK Physiotherapy to our Amersham community and leading and developing a team of MSK Band 6 and band 5 Physiotherapists. The post holder will work within the outpatients MSK Physiotherapy service primarily based at Amersham Hospital and within speciality Ankylosing Spondylitis clinics at Amersham and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals.
We pride ourselves on integrated team working and strive for best clinical practice. The post holder will have the opportunity to enhance their MSK skills with support from our Band 8a Lead Outpatients MSK Physiotherapist. We strongly encourage an evidenced based approach and support staff through supervision and appraisal. There is a strong emphasis on student education. Attendance at post graduate courses is also supported.
Candidates will be expected to join and partake in our weekend working rotas.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for leading and developing the Physiotherapy team (at Amersham Hospital) within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (including Aquatic Therapy and Ankylosing Spondylitis), in regard to all aspects of clinical governance within this specialty, shared responsibility.
To perform specialised assessment and treatment for patients with highly complex presentations and needs in a musculoskeletal field; and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers, relatives and others.
·To participate in the AS clinics in order to identify patients requiring assessment and/or management.
To undertake all aspects of clinical responsibility as a skilled, autonomous and advanced practitioner.
To actively lead development of professional and service initiatives, and contribute to organisational objectives.
To work in close liaison with the cross trust musculoskeletal clinical lead in all aspect of service delivery and development.
To supervise, teach and appraise Physiotherapy staff and students within the specialty.

Essential criteria
1. HCPC Registration
2. Membership of professional special interest group
3. Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
4. Field work/clinical educators course
Desirable criteria
5. MCSP Membership
6. Masters degree in related field
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Minimum of 18 months working experience at Band 6 level
8. Minimum of 12 months experience in related field at senior level
9. Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields
10. Experience in student clinical supervision
11. Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team
12. Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice
13. Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning
14. Participation in audit and research activities
15. Establish and maintain CPD Portfolio
16. Demonstration of having initiated change of practice or process following identification of clinical or service need
