Support Worker Abergavenny, £14.50-£15.25 per hour Role Overview We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Agency Support Workers to join our team in Abergavenny, providing high-quality support to individuals with complex needs. This rewarding role involves delivering person-centred care and support that promotes independence, wellbeing, dignity, and choice while helping individuals live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Key Responsibilities Provide person-centred support with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. Offer companionship, reassurance, and emotional support, helping individuals build confidence and enhance their overall wellbeing. Support individuals to access community activities, appointments, education, employment, and social opportunities, encouraging independence and inclusion. Assist with mobility and moving and handling tasks in accordance with training and best practice, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. Support individuals who may present behaviours of concern, responding calmly, professionally, and in line with support plans to maintain a positive and safe environment. Encourage and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, and maximise their independence. Promote choice, dignity, privacy, and respect, ensuring individuals remain at the centre of all support provided. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care and support Required Skills & Experience A minimum of 6 months’ UK-based experience working as a Support Worker. Experience with, or confidence in, supporting individuals who may present behaviours that challenge. A compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Reliable, flexible, and willing to work a variety of shifts across different locations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative and sound judgement to respond to client needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
