Position Overview
Job Title: Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
Classification: Executive
Reports to: Executive Vice President
Job Purpose: Serve as a member of the President's Cabinet; provide leadership for student affairs and enrollment management, ensuring departmental goals align with the college's mission.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in executive decision-making and policy development as a member of the President's staff.
* Support the President's Office, focusing on student-related issues.
* Lead enrollment management and student affairs functions.
* Advocate for students and develop programs to enhance their engagement and success.
* Collaborate with university partners to oversee transfer programs and maintain relationships.
* Create co-curricular opportunities to enrich student learning and growth.
* Coordinate enrollment strategies with academic leadership.
* Supervise marketing, research, and student life departments, including athletics, counseling, and career services.
* Manage divisional budgets and oversee staff recruitment, training, and evaluation.
* Maintain policies and procedures manuals.
* Represent the university at external events and committees.
* Stay informed on trends in higher education, enrollment management, and student services.
Reporting Structure
* Departments include Registration Services, Enrollment & Scholarship Services, and Student Life.
Qualifications and Skills
* Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or related field.
* Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership in higher education.
* Experience supervising enrollment and student development programs.
* Proficiency in student information systems and technology in student affairs.
* Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
