Job Title: Part-Time Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist, ideally trained in Sensory Integration, to develop an occupational therapy service within Ruskin Mill’s unique Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) method and Rudolf Steiner’s human development approach. The role focuses on addressing students’ sensory and self-regulation needs as outlined in their EHC plans.
Main Duties:
1. Provide an effective, specialised Occupational Therapy service to a caseload of residential and day students at Sunfield, following the PSTE method.
2. Contribute to developing sensory and experiential learning plans integrated within students’ daily and residential activities.
3. Support the creation of resources for sensory and experiential activities.
4. Develop and apply clinical skills in Sensory Integration, occupational therapy assessments, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation.
5. Offer specialist advice and support to other departments, professionals, and families within the PSTE framework.
6. Participate in the evaluation and ongoing development of the Occupational Therapy Service.
Training and Qualifications:
Training in PSTE will be provided. Ideally, candidates will have knowledge of or be open to Steiner principles of holistic and experiential education and therapeutic care.
