Job Title: Driver Manager
Location: Heathrow
Hours: Discussed at interview stage
Salary: £55,000 per annum (£300 car allowance)
We are seeking an experienced Driver Manager to lead and manage a large driving workforce within a highly regulated, unionised public transport operation. This is a senior operational role with responsibility for safety, performance, compliance, and service delivery, offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a high-profile transport environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and motivate large teams of professional drivers to deliver safe, reliable and customer-focused services
* Manage driver performance, attendance, welfare, conduct and formal appraisals
* Ensure full compliance with Operator's Licence obligations, Driver CPC, tachograph regulations and licence checks
* Support operational delivery through effective staff planning, budget control and KPI management
* Drive continuous improvement in punctuality, lost mileage reduction and collision prevention
* Champion a strong safety culture through visible leadership and proactive engagement
* Build and maintain constructive relationships with trade unions, internal departments and external stakeholders
About You
* Proven experience as a Driver Manager or Operations Manager within a regulated transport environment
* Strong people leadership skills with demonstrable experience working in a unionised operation
* Full PCV licence and valid Driver CPC (DQC) - essential
* PSV Transport Manager CPC, or a commitment to achieve this within 12 months
* Professional, resilient and highly organised, with a strong focus on customer service and safety
