The Care Worker's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Ensure that service users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their well-being.
· To support service users with all aspects of their day-to-day living, enabling them to enjoy the best possible quality of life while ensuring safety. Including but not limited to:
* assisting and enabling service users to dress, undress and wash and use the toilet and bathe,
* serving meals to service users at the table or bed and assist with feeding if necessary
* ensure overall comfort of service users
* provide interesting activities to stimulate and engage the service user.
* Help with daily activities to stimulate and engage the service user.
* Undertaking light cleaning and domestic duties including meal preparation as needed.
* Monitoring service users conditions by taking temperature, pulse respiration and weight and contributing to record keeping.
* Lone working.
* Compassion, good communication skills following the correct communication channels, to have a calm and caring manner.
* Respect and maintain dignity.
* Be responsible for informing your Team Lead/Area Manager of any changes in the needs of service users
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.
* Ordering/Collection of Medication, while monitoring stock levels and records.
* Liaising with professional staff in carrying our support plans and other administrative tasks as required.
