Job Description
We are looking for the right people to join our school. We wish to find a class teacher who is ready to face the challenges of working with pupils with a range of complex needs. We need an excellent teacher with ASC/SLD background or experience, who wants to work as part of a dedicated and supportive school staff.

Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6 3QL
Hours:
Full-Time; 38.5 hours per week (term time only)

The School
Doucecroft School is a vibrant, dynamic, and highly supportive specialist co-educational school for children and young people with autism and additional complex needs, aged 3-19 years. The school has a "Good" Ofsted rating and provides a nurturing environment where students can thrive and grow in independence and self-esteem.
We offer bespoke, individualised education with a proven track record of dramatically raising outcomes for students. Our approach focuses on quality-of-life outcomes, with support from specialist therapists and a highly skilled education team.

The Role
* Provision of top quality education and care for pupils with autism.
* Delivering engaging learning activities within the school's curriculum.
* Development of pupils' personal and social skills.
* Creating a safe and nurturing environment.
* Working within the school's multidisciplinary team.
* Managing the classroom, including learners, staff, and environment, and supervising break times and lunchtimes.
* Ensuring support is embedded for each learner according to the autism accreditation framework.
* Adhering to school policies on child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.
Applicants Should Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* An undergraduate degree.
* GCSEs at grade C/Level 4 or above in English, Maths, and Science.
* Experience or qualification in special education.
* Knowledge of SEN and assessment across P levels and the National Curriculum.
* Experience working with students with autism or learning disabilities.
* Experience managing a team of support staff is advantageous.
* Full driving license is essential.
