Your department produces low volume, high value, high precision aerospace components on a range of 2, 3,4 and 5 axis CNC machines up to 10 micron tolerances
To achieve this difficult and challenging task, you'll be managing 6 team leaders who in turn have over 70 skilled setter operator specialists producing prototype and production components to world class engineering standards
Your background is managing people in a CNC workshop including performance improvement, reviews, appraisals, disciplinaries and driving through change - Some of the staff are long-standing CNC experts so experience in changing staff habits is vital
There is a significant level of retirements expected so succession planning, effective decision making in recruitment and implementing skills transfer and training plans is important
You'll be working on a daytime shift pattern 7on 7off 7am to 5pm
In return, you'll be responsible for one of the most advanced and respected precision CNC workshops in the UK, producing parts that save about 25 lives a year
