We’re looking for a Holidays Operation Manager to join our team here at the Stackpole Centre (SA71 5DQ). Working as an integral part of the Stackpole team managing the successful operation of our holiday accommodation and outdoor experiences offer. You’ll host families, schools and young people, delivering a range of outdoor activities and residential experiences.
Hours: 1170 hours a year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
You will work most of your hours between March and September. This works out at around 4 days a week in the main guest season (between March – September) and around 2 days a week over the Winter period. This is flexible as you'll need to work when we are at our busiest. Occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday working will be required as part of this role.
Hourly rate: £13.74

What it's like to work here
In this role you’ll be reporting to the Visitor Operations & Experience Manager for the Pembrokeshire & Carmarthen Bay Portfolio. The Stackpole Centre is nestled within the listed designed landscape and an internationally important nature reserve (Stackpole Lakes). This stunning location takes in an eight-mile stretch of coastline, with sandy beaches, wooded valleys and lily ponds.

What you'll be doing
You’ll be responsible for the successful operation of a small portfolio of locally managed holiday accommodation including bunkhouses and holiday cottages, including a theatre space and meeting room and outdoor areas. You’ll host families, schools and young people delivering outdoor activities and residential experiences ensuring adequate provision is available.
You'll need to be guest focused, ensuring the highest quality of guest satisfaction and safety is achieved, you'll want your guests to be delighted with their stay, and to make every stay matter. Your focus will be on giving great service to everyone who chooses to stay with us. You’ll be answering their questions, following agreed procedures, working with the local property team as well as the bookings team to make sure we’re being consistent and maintaining our high standards.
As part of your role, you’ll work with a team to deliver on marketing, visitor/guest experience, pricing, facilities and access arrangements. Your day can include everything from managing the site budget, staff rotas and compliance tasks to the more practical grounds maintenance, cleaning and looking after the site infrastructure. We take great pride in our cleaning standards, and this role will require you to be 'hands on' with maintaining these standards.
You’ll be required to sort the on-call rota at the Stackpole Centre when our key holder is away. You’ll also be required to work as part of the Stackpole Estate Duty Management rota.
You’ll support in setting budgets and operational costs, working closely with the Facilities Manager identifying operational risk across Stackpole whilst ensuring the safety of our guests. You'll also tackle unplanned tasks as they arise, to help keep standards high and people happy.
You’ll manage and lead a small team of Holiday Operation Assistants through training, coaching and development. You'll be responsible for the recruitment of new staff, providing clear induction and training. You’ll also work with external cleaning contractors and ensure changeovers are managed well and in a timely manner.

13. excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with visitors in a variety of situations
