The team…
Care Call provides support to over 8,500 vulnerable individuals across Gateshead, and offers technology enabled support to give peace of mind for both service users and family members. The service responds to alerts raised via a wide range of technology enabled care, giving support, advice and providing a mobile response service to our residents.
They provide a point of contact out of hours for all Council services dealing with queries and giving advice and information as required, as well as providing emergency response and support to vulnerable residents in our Council sheltered housing schemes. The team are also key drivers in developing further innovative telecare and telehealth services to provide technological solutions to enable higher levels of user independence.
The role consists of in based and out based duties therefore any applicants must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
About the role….
The Telecare Health Co-ordinator team consists of three team members. Their main responsibility is the processing of referrals and installing a wide range of telecare systems within clients' homes and care settings aligned to key performance targets. The team are also responsible for ensuring the council's financial management systems are updated and that stock is maintained and managed. There are also key responsibilities in relation to marketing, promotion, and training across a wide variety of services as well as providing monitoring reports.
You must have the ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines. Also, knowledge of Microsoft packages and spreadsheets as data input will play a large part in the role.
It is essential that you have a current driving licence or means to mobility support as the role will consist of in based and out based duties. Co Wheels vehicles are available to book; however, own vehicles may be required with mileage costs being covered.
Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 in Social Care or Housing or an equivalent qualification and a Certificate in Assistive Technology or a willingness to undertake this.
