What You Will Do:
* First Article Inspection: Create detailed reports.
* First Off Checks: Conduct checks within the goods inwards area.
* Retention of Inspection Records: Ensure all records are maintained accurately.
* Release/Reject Goods: Assess and determine the status of incoming items.
* Supplier Certification Verification: Retain records in appropriate files.
* Quarantine Goods: Manage goods that do not meet quality standards.
* Calibration: Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated as required.
* Customer Returns: Notify Quality Engineers of any returns.
* MRR/CAR Creation: Manage necessary documentation.
* T-Cards: Participate in Safety, Continuous Improvement, and FPO’s.
* Documentation Management: Scan and file records electronically.
* Liaison: Collaborate with Stores, Purchasing, Planning, and Manufacturing Departments.
* Create Certificates of Conformance: Ensure compliance with standards.
* Tier II Participation: Engage in relevant meetings and activities.
* Other Duties: Assist with additional tasks as assigned by Management.
What You Will Bring:
* Experience: Proven background in quality inspection within precision engineering or manufacturing.
* Technical Skills: Competent in reading engineering drawings and understanding geometric tolerances.
* Metrology Proficiency: Skilled in using conventional gauges like micrometers.
* Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous nature.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Technical Knowledge: Proficient in MS Office and a solid understanding of Health and Safety culture.
Qualifications:
* SVQ3, HNC, or Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* UT/PT (SNT or PCN) qualification.
* Understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
* Problem-solving techniques.
* Experience with Co-ordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).
* Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
