Oxford Talks is a London-based creative platform where the world’s most ambitious voices, from creators and founders to artists and changemakers, come to share powerful ideas. With a growing audience across podcast platforms and social media, we are building one of the most exciting storytelling brands in the UK.
We are now hiring a full-time Production Manager to manage our media workflow end-to-end. From studio recording and full production shoots to content editing and asset management.
What will you be doing?
Your time will be split across:
Production Days
* Approximately 15–20 full production days per year, involving on-location filming at Oxford, guest coordination, and operating professional AV equipment.
* You will be responsible for setting up, managing, and packing down shoots, often acting as the on-site producer.
Weekly Studio Production
* Manage the weekly Oxford Talks podcast session at our in-house studio in Oval, London.
* Run sessions using our in-house equipment either independently or with a small crew.
* Ensure all episodes are recorded, backed up, and handed off for editing or publication.
Social Media Editing
* Regularly edit and deliver high-quality short-form content from podcast and production footage for platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
* Add branded motion graphics, subtitles, and audio elements.
* Work closely with the founder to ensure content tone and storytelling align with Oxford Talks’ mission
Digital Asset & Workflow Management
* Maintain a clean and structured media library with consistent naming and tagging.
* Use tools like Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io, and Notion to manage the content lifecycle.
* Archive all raw and edited media systematically and securely.
Required Skills and Requirements
* Minimum 3 years of experience in audio & video production, or digital media.
* Confident using editing tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
* Familiar with audio production software (Audition, Descript, Logic Pro).
* Experience handling Sony Cinema DSLR/mirrorless cameras, audio recorders, and lighting kits.
* Comfortable working solo or with a small team on-site.
* Knowledge of social media formats, aspect ratios, and engagement-driven storytelling.
Education and Qualifications
* Evidence of consistent, high-quality work and attention to detail.
* A degree in Media Production, Communications, Film, or equivalent experience is ideal, but not essential.
* Certifications or self-taught portfolios in editing, podcasting, or production workflows are welcome.
Personal Abilities
* Must be London-based.
* Must have a full UK driving license.
* Must be willing to undergo a background/security check.
* Proactive and disciplined - you anticipate needs, stay ahead of deadlines, and adapt quickly.
* Highly organised, you take pride in structured systems and clean file handling.
* Strong communicator, both verbally on production days and in writing for handovers and briefs.
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving, founder-led environment where flexibility is key.
