The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Military and Public Safety Business Development Manager (m/f/*) for United Kingdom, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
1. Identify opportunities and win new contracts / business within our Military, Police and other Government agencies.
2. Defend and grow our existing contracts within these sectors & end users.
3. Develop senior relationships with both procurement and operational unit stakeholders within the Emergency services, Military and other agencies.
4. Develop senior decision-making unit (DMU) and influencers relationships across the sector
5. Develop, implement, and manage a high-quality public sector tender submission process that maximizes our ability to win.
6. Influence key product specification decisions within our target sectors.
7. Build short, medium, and long-term business development plans / forecasts
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
8. Current, Valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position (if applicable)
9. Excellent understanding of the UK Public procurement process. Especially bid and tender submissions
10. Knowledge of the Ministry of Defence / Armed Forces / Police Force product specification and procurement – how decisions are made and who makes them.
11. Strong Commercial Acumen - track record of winning business in this sector.
12. Strong stakeholder engagement and network development within UK Government / MOD.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
13. Bachelor’s degree – business related or higher preferred but not essential
14. Potentially ex-Armed Forces Officer or Police officer.
Job specifics:
15. Role Location: National UK
16. Ideal candidate location: flexible dependent on candidate suitability, but Southern UK would be advantageous.
17. Travel expectations: May include up to 60% (mainly domestic)
18. Working pattern: full time
