The role of Data & GIS Nature Networks Specialist Advisor involves joining a national programme at the heart of nature recovery in Wales. The Nature Networks Programme (NNP) is a Welsh Government-funded capital investment initiative aimed at improving the condition and resilience of protected sites, including Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), and the species and habitats they support.
In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping the success of the programme by ensuring the data we collect is turned into meaningful evidence that demonstrates delivery and impact. You'll help communicate the value of the programme across Natural Resources Wales, to our partners, and to the public - producing insight in formats that support decision-making, transparency, and environmental progress.
You'll be part of the dedicated Nature Networks support team, working collaboratively across NRW and reporting to the Strategic Projects Manager within our wider Strategic Projects group.
Responsibilities
* Provide general administrative support to deliver the Strategic Projects programme and projects.
* Organise meetings, team travel and accommodation.
* Assist with financial management, recording and monitoring.
* Assist with purchases and procurements.
* Lead on data entry and data management, production of reports and other documents.
* Maintain good working relationships with colleagues within NRW and partner organisations.
* Handle and respond to basic customer inquiries.
* Undertake a programme of training and development.
* The post is primarily office-based but will require some travel to locations around Wales.
Requirements
* Good ICT skills, including competent use of Microsoft Office and GIS.
* Good programme and project administrative skills.
* Good communication and inter-personal skills with a customer focus.
* Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and deliver results to timescales.
