Shape Safer Environments Through Technical Excellence

Every building has a story hidden within its structure. As an Asbestos Surveyor, you’ll be the person who uncovers the detail, applies technical expertise and ensures that clients across the UK can make informed, safe and confident decisions. If you enjoy autonomy, thrive in varied environments and take pride in accuracy and clarity, this role offers genuine scope to grow, influence and create meaningful impact.

We have multiple roles available that will either cover locations across the Southeast and London or solely cover the Darlington area in the Northeast. In addition to a very competitive salary and overtime rates, we also offer a company car or a car allowance, giving you the flexibility and support you need for your role.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

This role exists to deliver high quality, UKAS compliant asbestos surveying services across a wide-ranging portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. You will carry out management, refurbishment and demolition surveys, collect precise inspection data and produce clear, robust reports aligned with UKAS accreditation and HSE guidance. Working largely independently on client sites, you will conduct detailed inspections, bulk sampling, and risk assessments, providing technically sound insights that support compliance, risk control and asset management.

You will work closely with internal quality and project teams while interacting directly with clients, facilities personnel and other stakeholders. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will operate across offices, public buildings, retail, healthcare, education, manufacturing and infrastructure environments. The role involves travelling to multiple sites, managing personal workloads and deadlines, and ensuring exceptional data integrity.

Your Impact in This Position

In the early stages, you will establish yourself as a dependable technical specialist, delivering consistently high quality surveys and building trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues. As your experience deepens, you will gain exposure to larger, more complex survey projects and play a part in service improvements and broader consultancy activities, including major commercial, industrial and refurbishment projects.

Longer-term, this position offers multiple progression pathways, including senior surveying responsibilities, technical auditing, project management or leadership roles within the consultancy. Ongoing professional development and access to diverse sites and contracts provide a strong foundation for sustained career growth.

Core Capabilities

* Asbestos Surveying – Plan and deliver comprehensive management, refurbishment and demolition surveys across commercial and industrial environments, identify and sample asbestos‑containing materials with precision, and produce clear, defensible outputs.
* Asbestos Expertise – Serve as the trusted technical authority on site, maintain a thorough understanding of asbestos materials, behaviours and risks in sectors such as aviation, pharmaceuticals and utilities, and provide forward‑thinking advice.
* Regulatory Compliance & Technical Knowledge – Apply the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG264 and supporting HSE guidance confidently, recognise when site conditions call for escalation, and keep knowledge current.
* Data Capturing, Reporting & QA – Record detailed observations, assessments and sample information using digital platforms, create well‑structured technical reports, and own the accuracy and completeness of work.
* Client Communication & Consultancy Skills – Communicate technical findings clearly, manage expectations, respond constructively to questions and maintain a professional presence.

Qualifications & Experience

You will hold BOHS P402 or an equivalent RSPH qualification, have demonstrable experience of undertaking asbestos surveys within a UKAS‑accredited setting, and be authorised for management, refurbishment and demolition surveys. Strong IT, literacy and numeracy skills are required, and a full UK driving licence is essential.

Working Environment

We support flexible arrangements, including three or four day working weeks. Overtime opportunities may be available and are remunerated at enhanced rates. You will plan site visits in advance to support effective scheduling and maintain a healthy work‑life balance. Periodic office attendance is expected for collaboration, training, quality reviews and wider team engagement. The role involves regular travel to client sites and occasional out‑of‑hours projects.

Equality & Diversity

In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day‑to‑day role.
