Job Description
The Future Seekers Team is looking to recruit an Electro-Optic Systems Engineer. The team’s mandate is to rapidly develop and mature seeker technologies to prototype demonstrators (Technology Readiness Level 5). Technology development includes concept development, performance modelling, algorithm development, software, hardware and firmware development, and systems integration and testing.
Your impact
As an Electro-Optic Systems Engineer, you will lead the integration and testing of EO seeker prototypes, working with other disciplines. You will specify, develop, and contribute to system testing, liaison with experts in electronics, software, firmware, and mechanical engineering. The role may interest those from an applications background seeking research exposure and a more theoretical career.
Day‑to‑day duties
* Contribution to the generation of new seeker concepts
* Generation of system and subsystem requirements
* Work with test engineers to characterize performance
* Algorithm development and data analysis
* Trials activities
What you’ll bring
* Proven experience in electro‑optic system development and integration. An engineering or science‑based Honours degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
* Electronic engineering background with understanding of passive and active EO systems. Systems engineering experience or aspiration to move into a systems engineering role with mentoring is desirable.

* Relevant experience in RF or EE sensor systems
* Understanding of complex weapons systems employment
