Working 37.5 hours a week, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the medical team at Barnet Lane Clinic. From managing diaries, planning meetings to updating records, you will be able to turn your hand to any admin‑related task.
As the Medical Secretary, you will work alongside the Registered Clinicians assisting with confidential paperwork, service users’ records and GP letters. You will liaise with external agencies to obtain up‑to‑date information on service users and GP letters, and will take a lead in recording their blood test results.
You’ll be working in a specialist Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS), supporting adults with complex needs who benefit from a more tailored, long‑term recovery approach beyond standard care settings.
Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Clinician with letters and general documentation
* Support all meetings as minute taker as requested, chaired by the Medical Director, SMT or ad‑hoc
* Receive and type, check, and amend records for spelling and grammatical errors, completing within given deadlines
* Participate in the administration, development and evaluation of regulatory matters
* Co‑ordinate the hospital diary and the whereabouts of the clinicians
* Book meetings
* Arrange conference calls
Qualifications
* IT skills including Microsoft Office
* Experience of audio typing
* Communication and organisational skills
* A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent
* Knowledge of mental health and medications

Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models. The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
