GSF Shipping Supplies Program, GSF SME-OI
Amazon is seeking candidates for the IN UFF & SSD Procurement Org. The primary role of the buyer is to plan shipping supplies, logistics, and inventory management of reusable assets for 36 Amazon-owned sites across India. The candidate will partner with internal stakeholders to develop a strong inventory management system and drive improvements in costs, efficiency, and delivery of products and services to support the launch of the new distribution model.
This leader should have seller business acumen, be comfortable interfacing with various functional teams, and have a passion for developing and implementing processes in ambiguous problem spaces. They should be willing to build small programs that significantly impact Amazon’s inventory management capabilities. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team-oriented, and capable of working independently under tight deadlines. Proven experience in end-to-end ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Key job responsibilities
1. Planning the right stocks for over 70+ nodes in GSF.
2. Ensuring stock counting cadence across miles/nodes.
3. Coordinating procurement and distribution with the central procurement team.
4. Managing forward/transit scans for totes.
5. Monitoring and controlling tote losses.
6. Providing support to operations for asset shortages based on needs.
7. Participating in annual asset improvement exercises.
8. Monitoring and controlling the usage of assets as intended.
A day in the life
The Buyer should be creative, detail-oriented, outgoing, and possess excellent problem-solving and program management skills. They will collaborate with other buyers, managers, and stakeholders to define requirements, develop a sustainable inventory management model, assign responsibilities, and establish tracking mechanisms to ensure accountability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* At least 1 year of experience in customer-facing environments, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing.
* Bachelor's degree.
* Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
