Overview
East Claydon CE school and preschool are looking for a part time Level 3 Preschool Practitioner who will play a vital role in shaping early childhood experiences, ensuring children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. This is a hands-on, rewarding position that requires both professional knowledge and a genuine passion for working with young children. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years education and care, supporting children’s development, and working closely with families and colleagues to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
The hours are Monday & Tuesday. 8am-5.30pm term time only.
**This role also includes school wrap around care service once the preschool closes at 3pm. From 3.15pm you will be expected to join our wrap around care assistants until 5.30pm. The activities for this is organised by our playleader.**

Salary Details: Range 2 FTE: £25,625-£27,770 Dependent on experience

About the role
Key Purpose of the Role:
-Provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for children aged 0–5 years.
-Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring activities meet children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs.
-Maintain a safe and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive relationships.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
-Curriculum delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate activities aligned with EYFS.
-Observation & assessment: Keep accurate records of children’s progress, development, and learning outcomes.
-Safeguarding: Ensure children’s welfare and safety at all times, following statutory requirements.
-Partnership with parents/carers: Communicate effectively, share progress, and involve families in their child’s learning journey.
-Team collaboration: Work alongside other practitioners, managers, and external agencies to support children’s holistic development.
-Environment management: Set up and tidy learning spaces, check equipment for safety, and maintain cleanliness
About you
Level 3 Childcare Qualification or equivalent
Strong knowledge of child development and EYFS framework.
Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
Creativity and adaptability in planning engaging activities.
Patience, empathy, and professionalism in supporting diverse needs.
Organizational skills for managing records, schedules, and resources
