James Stevens Associates are delighted to be working with a Social Housing organisation in Essex that are now looking for a Temporary Executive Assistant and Governance Support professional to join their organisation.
Interim EA & Governance Support

* Format: Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office per week
* Rate:
£150 - £180 a day via Umbrella Company (We can support with this)
* Hours:
5 days per week

This is an urgent role so we are looking for someone available either immediately or within a few weeks.
About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Interim EA & Governance Support professional to provide high-quality executive and governance support to our leadership team during a period of transition. This role will suit someone with strong administrative skills, experience supporting senior leaders, and an interest in helping to embed governance improvements – including the use of AI to streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support (c.60 to 70%)
* Provide EA support to two Executive Directors including diary management, correspondence, and preparing presentations and papers.
* Support occasional diary management and administrative needs for other members of the Executive Team.
* Process invoices, expenses, and general executive administration.
Governance Support (c.30 to 40%)
* Coordinate diaries for governance-related meetings, including pre-meets with the Chair and Executives.
* Support the preparation and distribution of meeting packs, agendas, and papers.
* Take notes/minutes at internal operational groups (not formal board/committee level).
* Assist with annual governance planning, including skills assessments, appraisals, and policy updates.
* Administer signing, sealing, and records management processes.
* Support the use of AI and digital tools to automate governance processes and improve efficiency.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in an EA, Executive Assistant, or Governance support role (ideally within housing, not-for-profit, or a similar regulated sector).
* Strong organisational and diary management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable preparing PowerPoint presentations, meeting packs, and correspondence.
* Experience with governance processes, committee or board administration, or willingness to learn.
* An interest in (or experience of) using AI or digital tools to improve administrative and governance efficiency.
* A proactive, professional, and discreet approach to working with senior stakeholders.
