Fleet Desk Manager – Northampton
Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Salary: Up to £67,500 Basic.
About the Company
A large nationwide fleet company is seeking a dedicated Fleet Desk Manager to join their Northampton team.
The Role
The Fleet Desk Manager will lead the technical service team, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legislation, manufacturer guidelines and contractual commitments. You’ll optimise vehicle availability, control maintenance spend and ensure the fleet management system is accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and lead the technical service team, including performance reviews, development and coaching
* Set, monitor and report on team KPIs
* Schedule and oversee mobile engineers and daily logistics
* Oversee all vehicle maintenance and repairs (internal and subcontracted), ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance
* Maximise warranty claims and manage rechargeable damage processes
* Negotiate with third‑party repairers and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and SLA adherence
* Manage supplier performance, invoices and dispute resolution
* Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure contractual service delivery
* Ensure accurate use of fleet systems for reporting and cost control
Requirements
* Proven experience managing technical staff
* Strong IT skills
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Professional, proactive and solution‑focused approach
* Ability to influence and drive change
* Full clean driving licence
