Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Direct Procurement Manager to lead our procurement team. This role is vital for ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strong supplier relationships, supporting a smooth supply chain and collaborating with Project Delivery to ensure on-time delivery of critical components.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Leading and developing a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
2. Creating and implementing strategic procurement plans to enhance efficiency and achieve cost savings.
3. Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, identifying opportunities for innovation and value improvement.
4. Balancing cost, quality, and delivery targets to ensure smooth operations.
5. Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs to ensure expectations are met.
6. Overseeing procurement of raw materials, proprietary, and manufactured components.
7. Coordinating internally manufactured parts with external supply needs.
8. Collaborating with internal teams and Project Delivery to align procurement with production schedules for timely deliveries.
9. Leveraging ERP systems, especially IFS, to improve procurement efficiency and business outcomes.
10. Contributing strategic insights in meetings to guide procurement decisions.
Requirements
* Solid experience in direct procurement within motorsport or high-level manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of composite, metallic, and proprietary materials.
* Understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and supplier requirements.
* Proven leadership in procurement roles, preferably within Formula 1 or high-performance motorsport.
* Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal terms and maintain supplier relationships.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
* Experience working with Project Delivery teams to align procurement with operational needs.
* Willingness to travel as required.
