Programming and Marketing Manager at South Mill Arts
20 hours per week
Operational:
* Basic Lighting and Sound Design and Operation for a variety of events, including music, theatre, dance and functions.
* Work with visiting companies or artists to ensure all events run to schedule.
* To liaise with relevant FOH Duty Management on occasions when we have performances/events.
* To use in house Digital Projection equipment as part of our cinema program and other events.
* To act as the South Mill Arts Technical Duty Manager as required.
* To act as tech onstage as required
* Assist with Pre-Rigs and Pre-Plots for events as required.
Health and Safety:
* Advise and brief visiting hirers on SMA health and safety procedures including fire evacuation procedure.
* Work with the Technical & Operations Manager on ensuring all H&S requirements are complete during hiring or touring productions.
Maintenance:
* To undertake the maintenance of the Technical equipment of the Complex, (as directed by the Senior Theatre Technician) by ensuring it is maintained in working order, and carrying out general maintenance and repairs where appropriate.
* To assist the Technical Team with the summer technical maintenance programme.
* To work with the Technical Team on ensuring that all South Mill Arts Technical equipment is safely stored in the designated secured area.
* Advising Technical & Operations Manager or Senior Theatre Technician of any defects in equipment that need rectifying.
Additional Duties:
* To attend Staff meetings or 1:1’s as required by the Technical & Operations Manager.
* Work on the Summer Technical Holiday Program(s) as directed by the Technical & Operations Manager and Senior Theatre Technician.
* To undertake technical portfolios as required by the Technical & Operations Manager or Senior Theatre Technician.
* Carry out any other duties set by the Technical & Operations Manager or Senior Theatre Technician that may, from time to time, be required.
Experience Required:
* Prior experience of working within the Technical Industry (Events, Productions or Concert)
* Prior experience of working with clients/hirers in a professional or community capacity
* Tertiary Technical training desirable, but not essential.
* Prior Lighting or Sound Design or Operation work desirable but not essential.
* Basic Technical maintenance skills required.
* Prior experience of Cinema equipment desirable, but not essential.
