Job Title: Group Financial Controller

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking a commercially-minded Group Financial Controller to join a well-established, family-owned business operating across the UK and internationally. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the group finance function, provide insight to the board, and drive financial performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts to the board.
2. Manage cash flow, including foreign currency transactions and hedging.
3. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning & analysis, with thorough variance analysis.
4. Oversee the end-to-end audit process and maintain compliance with statutory requirements.
5. Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives.
6. Ensure robust financial controls, tax planning, and effective liaison with external advisors.
7. Lead and develop the finance team, fostering best practice and professional growth.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will:
8. Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
9. Have proven experience as a Financial Controller or Group FC, ideally within a family-owned business.
10. Be confident managing a finance team and building relationships across multiple directors.
11. Demonstrate technical excellence in accounting standards and financial reporting.
12. Have experience with Sage 200, Microsoft Office 365, and similar finance systems.
13. Possess strong commercial awareness, with experience in retail, wholesale, or manufacturing, ideally handling multi-currency transactions and international suppliers.
14. Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
