Role Responsibility
We are excited to announce an opportunity in the KCC Highway Asset Management and Inspections Team for an ambitious, talented and experienced Engineer who is keen to demonstrate their technical, asset management and project delivery skills. You will need to haveexperience with highway engineering such as surfacing and maintenance of carriageways, you will also have a sound knowledge of Asset Management principles.
Kent County Council is responsible for a highway network of 8700km, with our highway network being the most valuable asset we own as an authority. The Carriageway Asset Preservation Team are responsible for delivering a comprehensive programme of varied preservation techniques, along with associated works, to ensure that this asset is maintained appropriately. As a wider team, we undertake safety inspections alongside driving good highway asset management practice across our organisation, and for our road and footway assets in particular. We are also responsible for the delivery of hundreds of planned road and footway renewal schemes.
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the schemes within timeframes, budgets and to a good quality by working with our supply chain. You will be able to use a risk-based approach to prioritise competing demands and will be open to innovative ways of delivering the service.

The role is planned to be based in Aylesford Highway Depot, covering West Kent areas although as the work can be Countywide there are good flexible working opportunities.
Ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.
