Cory, one of the UK’s leading waste management and recycling companies, is seeking a Shipyard Mechanical Fitter to join their team at Gravesend. This role plays a crucial part in the daily operations of the Gravesend Shipyard, contributing to the smooth running of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining health, safety, and security on vessels
Provide mechanical services for engines and related marine equipment
Operate and maintain plant, equipment, and vehicles
Ensure compliance with all current legislation, including environmental regulations
Maintain the health, safety, and security of the site

The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

Operation of workshop equipment (turning, drilling, welding/soldering, CNC)
Adaptable and willing to work outside normal working hours
Able to work in confined/enclosed spaces

It is desirable to hold the following qualifications:
Diploma in Marine Construction, Mechanical Installation, System Engineering and Maintenance
Certificate of Technical competence – Mechanical Engineering
Management Qualification – ILM Level 2 award in Leadership/Completed Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
Please note : While this role is based at Gravesend, there may be the requirement to work at Charlton from time to time depending on business needs.
