Overview: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cyber Security Apprentice to join our IT Infrastructure and Security division. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in cyber security, helping you build a strong foundation in protecting digital assets and managing security operations within the payments industry. Responsibilities: Assist in monitoring and responding to security alerts and incidents Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners Help conduct regular security assessments and audits Learn to identify and mitigate cyber threats and vulnerabilities Assist in managing identity and access controls, including MFA and privileged access Participate in security awareness training initiatives and phishing simulations Support compliance efforts with industry standards such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and GDPR Document security processes, incidents, and remediation steps Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure system configurations and deployments Desirable skills: Communication skills Customer service skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Basic understanding of networking and operating systems (Windows/Linux) Familiarity with security tools or platforms (e.g., antivirus, firewalls, SIEM) Awareness of cyber threats such as phishing, malware, and ransomware Team player Willingness to learn and adapt Enthusiastic and motivated Ability to explain technical issues clearly Entry requirements: An A-Level in ICT OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits) You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
