Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School – Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire
Start Date: September or October 2025 | Contract Type: Full-Time

Would you like to work in a resource base dedicated to helping young people with Autism and Learning Difficulties?
If so, GSL Education are pleased to offer a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role at a secondary school in Dibden Purlieu, starting September 2025 or October 2025, depending on notice period. This position involves working closely with students in the school’s resource base, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive academically and socially. A permanent contract is available following a successful probation period, with opportunities for progression through the pay grades as experience and skills develop.
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Responsibilities:
* Provide individual and group support for students with Autism and Learning Difficulties within the resource base
* Assist with implementing personalised learning plans and adapting resources as needed
* Support students in developing independence and confidence
* Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure consistent student progress
* Help manage behaviour positively and maintain a safe, supportive environment
* Keep accurate records of student progress and interventions
* Participate in meetings and training to enhance professional knowledge
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Qualifications:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism and Learning Difficulties, is desirable
* A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
* Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* Candidates from the care sector with transferable SEN skills are warmly encouraged to apply
* CACHE Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare, or similar, is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to undertake training and professional development
* Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
