Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, self-motivated Band 7 Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our team. This busy service provides a high standard of MSK physiotherapy assessment and treatment to the local communities.
The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner providing evidence based physiotherapy assessment and treatment within the out-patient team to clients with a range of musculoskeletal condition. There will be a requirement to support and mentor junior clinicians. Your role will also include supporting the MSST Integrated service by assisting with triage of incoming referrals for a wide range of MSK specialities including physiotherapy, podiatry and hand therapy. You may be required to support some of our other clinical sites.
This role comprises First Contact Practitioner (Physiotherapy) hours that are delivered for Newport PCN and also clinic physio role one day per week in Church Stretton Health and Wellbeing Centre.
Main duties of the job
* To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own highly specialist caseload of complex musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous physiotherapist in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations, within both an outpatient and Primary Care environment.
* To develop, through experience and postgraduate training, the highly specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for working within an MSK outpatient / Primary Care setting.
* To triage onward referrals from physio departments to ensure thresholds are met, where they are not to provide the support, mentoring and training required to develop more junior staff to ensure evidenced based treatment is provided.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy.
* Registered with HCPC.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Experience
* Evidence of extensive experience in relevant area of clinical practice.
* Evidence of teaching / presentation experience.
* Experience in audit and research.
* Experience of delegation and supervision.
* Extensive post registration experience working at a senior level within speciality area.
Knowledge and Skills
* Awareness of current initiatives within the Local and National health economy.
* Clinical supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal skills.
* Knowledge of referral criteria to other MSK professions.
* Specialist knowledge of professional practice and research
Other
* Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post
