CERTAIN AGENCY WORKERS MEETING CRITERIA UNDER THE AGENCY WORKERS REGULATIONS (2010) MAY ALSO APPLY About the Role: Derby City Council is seeking a dynamic and motivated Business, Events and Operations Officer to help shape and deliver an exciting and expanding programme of events and activities across Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in promoting Derby as a vibrant and welcoming place to live, work, visit and invest. As part of the Business, Events and Operations Team, you will assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of events that enhance visitor experience, support local communities, and drive economic growth. You’ll help manage spaces across the city, ensuring activities are well-organised, compliant, and commercially viable. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in managing the delivery and promotion of an annual events and activities programme across Derby. • Build strong relationships with communities, stakeholders, and partners to enhance participation and community cohesion. • Oversee event delivery at various venues ensuring adherence to budget, licensing, health & safety, and operational plans. • Line manage Business, Events and Operations Assistants, including rota management, correspondence, and day-to-day support. • Support marketing and communication efforts in collaboration with internal teams to promote events and track campaign effectiveness. • Manage booking systems, licensing processes, space hire, invoicing, direct debits, and other administrative tasks. • Provide timely financial and attendance reporting and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and services. • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, across a variety of locations. Who We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone with a passion for events and community engagement, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong eye for detail.
