We are now looking for a dynamic Commercial Directorto lead commercial operations across a key area of our business, managing complex, high-value programmes from bid to closeout.
Your Mission
As Commercial Director, you’ll take the lead on all commercial aspects of our service delivery programmes – overseeing existing contracts, leading strategic bids, and driving profitable, low-risk outcomes. Working at the heart of multifunctional teams in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, you’ll shape the commercial landscape of our defence operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading a team of experienced commercial professionals, providing mentorship and strategic direction.
* Negotiating with new and existing customers to secure contracts that balance risk and reward.
* Supporting bids and proposals as a key member of the pursuit team, aligning commercial strategies with programme delivery goals.
* Managing contract obligations and proactively resolving commercial issues during live programmes.
* Building trusted, long-term relationships with UK MOD, government departments, and global defence customers.
* Advising senior stakeholders on complex commercial issues and presenting to board-level management.
* Supporting strategic supplier agreements and developing industry partnerships.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven commercial leadership within complex service delivery programmes, ideally in aerospace or defence.
* Deep experience in UK MOD contracting and defence procurement frameworks.
* Strong negotiation, drafting, and contract lifecycle management skills.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to make sound, risk-informed commercial decisions.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
* Degree qualified, with 15+ years of relevant commercial experience.
* Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
