What You’ll Do:
As our Head Pastry Chef, you’ll work alongside the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the pastry section. You’ll be instrumental in creating and maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence. Here’s a taste of what you’ll be responsible for:
* Lead by Example: Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily production of exquisite pastry items while ensuring every creation aligns with our financial and quality targets.
* Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with the Head Chef and senior leadership to design exciting, seasonal pastry menus that elevate the dining experience.
* Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate the pastry team, fostering a respectful, professional, and creative environment.
* Maintain High Standards: Uphold stringent hygiene, safety, and quality standards, ensuring every pastry is of impeccable quality.
* Financial Management: Monitor and control waste management systems and stock levels, ensuring the pastry section operates within budget and resources are maximized.
* Recipe Development: Take the lead on creating and documenting innovative, unique recipes that push the boundaries of pastry art.
* Training & Development: Inspire and train the pastry team to perfect their craft, always ensuring consistency and top-tier performance.
What We’re Looking For:
We want someone who’s not only technically skilled but also passionate about creating unforgettable pastry experiences. Ideally, you’ll have:
* Proven Experience: Extensive experience as a senior pastry chef or sous pastry chef in a high-volume, high-quality kitchen.
* Creativity & Precision: A keen eye for detail and a flair for pastry design, alongside a solid understanding of traditional and modern techniques.
* Leadership Skills: Strong supervisory skills, with a track record of managing and motivating a team to deliver excellence.
* Financial Acumen: Ability to manage kitchen budgets, control food costs, and reduce waste effectively.
* Passion for Excellence: A desire to maintain and elevate the standards within the pastry section.
* Hygiene & Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
