Apartments 118 and Achilles Motel are currently seeking a dedicated Motel Manager to oversee day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate day-to-day motel operations, including reservations, front desk, room service, and housekeeping.
* Supervise property maintenance, public area care, and ensure effective security procedures are in place.
* Manage on-site room services and coordinate small events, group reservations, if applicable.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations/laws and occupational health and safety standards.
* Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to feedback to maintain high standards of service.
* Handle accounting tasks such as budgeting, invoicing, payroll, and manage purchasing and inventory control.
* Provide local tourism information and assist guests with booking tours or transportation as required.
* Responsible for recruiting, supervising, and training motel staff to ensure efficient and courteous service delivery.
Qualifications
* Relevant NZQF level5 or above qualification, majoring in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Management, or Business Administration
* Previous experience in hospitality or hotel/motel management
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent customer service and communication abilities
* Basic accounting and computer proficiency
* Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
* Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Skills
* Experience with motel management systems (Freeonlinebooking System)
* Knowledge of local tourism and hospitality trends
* Sales and marketing experience
What We Offer
* Competitive salary Remuneration Guide: $25 - $30 per hour (depending on experience)

* Minimum guaranteed hours are 30 per week.
* Flexibility in work hours is required, including weekend work, occasional late shifts/callouts, and some public holidays.
