Overview
This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy and determination to drive and develop the business. We're looking for a manager with the experience of developing the standards and reputation of this new gym whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
* Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational and daily expectations are delivered.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
* Ensure the entire gym facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
* Ensure in-house cleaners are cleaning to the required standard. Manage weekly banking to minimise wastage and variance, maximising profit.
* Ensure uniform standards are adhered to by all team members and yourself.
* Always deliver outstanding member service.
* Help create an environment where the team enjoys themselves whilst at work.
* Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms at all times.
Qualifications
* Must have a proven and successful track record of management experience within a leisure-related industry.
* Must be passionate about customer service and be an inspirational leader in the way they manage.
* Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor
* Must have a proven track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity as well as recruiting and managing a successful team.
* Ideally will have experience as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational role.
