Role Overview
These roles support TfL’s Corporate Environment Plan by providing technical environmental advice. There are three vacancies: two supporting capital projects and one supporting operations. The successful candidates will assist SHE Environment Managers and stakeholders in delivering environmental improvements and managing risks and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Support delivery of the Corporate Environment Plan, tracking progress against plans.
* Provide environmental advice, including risk assessments and appraisals.
* Assist with environmental input into procurement, contractual clauses, tender assessments, and contractor performance monitoring.
* Help collate and interpret environmental data, and support upskilling teams in data management.
* Act as an environmental champion and advocate.
Key Interfaces
The role involves working with internal teams like SHE Business Partners, operational colleagues, project teams, engineering, procurement, and external partners such as consultants, contractors, and regulators.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Ability to work quickly and independently or collaboratively within a large organization. (Essential)
* Advising on environmental risks and legislative compliance. (Essential)
* Supporting the business to understand and meet environmental obligations. (Essential)
* Strong communication, collaboration, and diplomacy skills. (Essential)
* Knowledge of environmental issues, legislation, standards, and best practices. (Essential)
* Understanding of environmental management systems, procurement, project management, and carbon management are desirable.
