An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Procurement Manager to join a fast paced, customer focused organisation within the hospitality and leisure sector. Perfect for someone with 2 to 3 years’ indirect procurement experience looking to step up, take ownership of key categories, and support a high-performing procurement function across a national multi-site estate.
You’ll work closely with senior procurement leaders to deliver sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and support operational teams across the UK ensuring value, service quality and continuity of supply.
The Role
As Assistant Procurement Manager, you will support the sourcing, renewal, and ongoing management of c.£13m operational spend across several indirect categories. You will play a key role in delivering procurement strategies that drive savings, improve service, and support a safe, efficient, guest-focused operation.
You will:
* Support category strategies across indirect spend areas such as cleaning chemicals, waste services, consumables, and wholesale goods.
* Assist in running end-to-end tender processes: documentation, supplier engagement, evaluation, and contract award.
* Maintain supplier performance data, contracts, and compliance records.
* Collaborate with operations and central teams to understand business needs and translate them into procurement requirements.
* Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers and rationalise product ranges to drive efficiencies.
* Prepare procurement reports and spend analysis to support strategic decision-making.
* Contribute to value-add initiatives including EBITDA savings, cost avoidance, payment term improvements, and sustainability activity.
* Ensure all activity aligns with internal brand standards, ethical sourcing practices, and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
* 1–3 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain — hospitality, FMCG, retail, or multi-site preferred.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders up to Director level.
* High commercial awareness, with strong analytical and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
* Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
* Confidence to work both collaboratively and independently.
Desirable:
* Experience working in hospitality, leisure, or consumer-facing industries.
* Familiarity with tendering processes, supplier negotiations and contract management.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen.
* Comfortable using procurement systems and Microsoft Office tools.
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
