Lead Mechanical or HVAC Engineer Location: Healthcare estate environment Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week) Salary & Benefits: Competitive excellent package The Role We’re looking for a skilled Lead Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to take ownership of maintenance, repair, and inspection of mechanical building services. As a Lead Mechanical or HVAC Engineer you’ll play a key role in keeping critical healthcare facilities running smoothly, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering a reliable, customer-focused service. What You’ll Do * Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical systems. * Diagnose and repair faults on equipment quickly and safely. * Support installations, upgrades, and adaptations. * Work on steam boilers, water systems, and heating plant. * Liaise with wards/departments to minimise disruption. * Join the call-out rota (after qualifying period). * Maintain accurate records and paperwork. * Work flexibly with other trades and support the wider estates team. What You’ll Bring- Lead Mechanical or HVAC Engineer * NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services (or equivalent). * Strong background in mechanical maintenance/HVAC within building services. * Hands-on experience with AHUs, FCUs, LTHW, pumps, pipework, valves, chilled & potable water systems/Air Conditioning units. * Knowledge of water hygiene systems. * Plumbing skills essential; steam systems and pipefitting experience desirable. * Authorised Person (Mechanical Systems) certification is a bonus.
