Making a Difference
You’ll be making a difference to the future of aviation by helping us deliver operational excellence. The Cyber Security Technician responds to security threats, manages incidents, and operates security tools in collaboration with the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The role involves troubleshooting cyber security issues, staying updated on adversaries, tools, and techniques, and supporting internal security measures.
This role offers hybrid working and requires travel to the nearest GKN Aerospace site, with global travel expected twice annually.
How You'll Contribute
* Follow all HSE rules and regulations, wear PPE as required
* Assist IT/OT teams in monitoring threats and vulnerabilities
* Maintain global cyber controls, operations, and services (24x7)
* Escalate, respond to, and report cyber security incidents and corrective actions
* Ensure high service levels, technical controls, and support objectives on cyber security tools
* Work effectively within a multi-location team
* Develop and maintain cybersecurity processes, standards, and architectures
* Assess IT/OT environments including systems, networks, databases, and applications
* Support maintenance, administration, and health monitoring of cyber security systems
* Participate in change management, operational readiness, and lifecycle management for cyber security solutions
What You'll Bring
Essential:
Relevant Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating high availability & high performance infrastructure in a global manufacturing organization, in roles such as security, systems, or network administrator
Experience in a virtual, multicultural, global environment
Extensive knowledge of information security, IT risk management, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and security controls
Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management systems
Understanding of system architectures and vulnerability risks
Desirable:
Knowledge of aerospace regulations and export controls
Ability to collaborate with business and tech stakeholders on security implications
ITIL certification
Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Data Protection regulations
Background in network and firewall administration, CCNA certification
Certifications like Security+, CEH, or CISSP
