The PVO team, within Product Engineering (PE), plays a critical role in prototype vehicle creation. Working under Product Engineering Operations (PEO), we are responsible for all prototype vehicle build preparation, serving as a key interface between Vehicle Programme, Vehicle Engineering, and Manufacturing teams. We are currently expanding our product portfolio, making this an exciting period for the team.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
1. Supporting pre-production builds by coordinating with external suppliers to ensure delivery promises are met and maintained.
2. Managing parts from dispatch to receipt, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring all Non Released Parts (NRP) are delivered on time.
3. Entering all delivery promises within one week of receipt.
4. Achieving 87% of parts for the first car of each schedule received by MRD.
5. Ensuring zero build stoppages and zero POF losses for all prototype builds related to NRPs.
6. Coordinating on-time shipping collections for NRPs using cost-effective transport modes.
7. Negotiating delivery dates with suppliers to support multiple prototype production builds and battery production.
8. Supporting engineering in exporting materials to suppliers for assembly supply in line with build requirements.
9. Negotiating production slots with internal Tool Rooms and 3D printing operations.
10. Visiting key suppliers to review delivery performance and identify opportunities for improvement, aligning with Customer Love principles.
11. Adopting Agile philosophies to identify and resolve obstacles to on-time supply from the supply base.
Skills required include:
1. Achieving objectives outlined in the departmental scorecard.
2. Collaborating effectively with PE teams to ensure successful build events.
3. Supporting relevant prototype build activities.
4. Leading supplier meetings to review part supply status and resolve issues.
5. Performing any additional duties as directed by the line manager related to this role.
